About Careers With Animals Day
Careers With Animals Day is a FREE, annual careers event set up by The College of Animal Welfare, that has been running for over 25 years. It gives visitors the chance to meet with organisations and professionals within the animal care and veterinary industry, listen to career talks, gain advice, ask questions, and receive guidance on training.
Whether you are still at school, are considering a career change or are currently unemployed, if you want to work with animals and are looking to find out how you can make it happen, this really is an event not to be missed. Hundreds of people of all ages and backgrounds visit us each year, hoping to find out how they can turn their dream of working with animals into a reality.
A series of careers talks take place on a variety of different careers; from veterinary nursing and dog grooming to working with wildlife. With a mixture of both local and national exhibitors, you will come away with plenty of ideas and inspiration. Over the years, Careers With Animals Day has continued to expand the number of exhibitors and the range of talks on offer to visitors, but has retained its friendly atmosphere and desire to provide people with the opportunity to get the information they need and engage with the people who really have ‘been there and got the t shirt’!
In January 2021, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Careers With Animals Day took place virtually for the very first time, with over 1000 people joining us online to listen to presentations and gain careers advice.
